Steve Doan Taking a Picture

I am a full time fine art photographer. I make my living selling photographic art in juried art shows across the United States.
My father and mentor has been taking and selling fine art photography for over 35 years. My first foray into the photographic world was when as a young boy I bought a Nikonos underwater camera and Dad bought the lenses and off we went. Since then I have been traveling the world using my love of the outdoors and natures beauty as my guide. It is one thing to take a snap shot of a scene; however my goal is to take a picture that can convey the raw power and beauty of nature. My photography is a small prism into that world.
While my formal education is in Finance and International Business. I have been a full time professional photographer for the last 15 years. But, I have always have a love for photography and have been taking pictures my entire life. Sometimes both I and my dad travel together on photo safaris and sometime we travel separately.
I use only digital Cameras. While my Dad uses only film Cameras. Except for a few very specialized cameras all of our camera bodies and lens are Nikon.     My studio is in my home in Oxford, Georgia. I personally print, sign and frame every one of my pictures. My photographs are printed using exhibition quality pigmented inks, dry mounted on acid free foam core boards, and then matted. The larger size prints are limited editions of 250. The prints are sold only as art and have never been published.
